Eccentric Tome
With the Eccentric Tome, a player stores many guide books inside one item and pulls any of them back out when needed.
What it does
Eccentric Tome introduces one new item, built to keep a player's collection of guide books in one place. Books are attached to the Tome in a crafting grid, and a right-click while holding the Tome opens a selection screen for choosing which stored book to use. Single-use items placed in the Tome stay single use.
Holding the Tome and shift-right-clicking a block converts the Tome into the book belonging to that block, and shift-Q ejects a book from a converted Tome. If a stored item such as the Tome of Helmets or the Galactic Tome disappears or breaks, the Tome disappears or breaks too, taking every book inside it. The Eccentric Tome is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code and issue tracker are public. Files exist for Forge and NeoForge across 12 release versions, 1.16.5 – 26.1.1.
Key features
Book storage
Many books can be combined into one Tome, so a collection takes up a single inventory slot.
Selection screen
A right-click while holding the Tome opens a list of the stored books to choose from.
Block conversion
Shift and right-click on a block turns the Tome into the book associated with that block.
Ejecting books
Shift and Q while holding a converted Tome removes a book from it.
Crafting attachment
Books are attached by placing them with the Tome in the crafting grid, and a book and bookcase craft the Tome itself.

Use cases
Carrying guide books
A player who collects guide books from several mods can keep them together in one item instead of carrying each one separately.
Who it’s for: Players who carry several guide or manual books and want them grouped under a single item, and modpack builders who ship many such books.

Book Tooltip is a client-side only Forge mod for 1.18.2 – 1.20.1 under the MIT License, and it is not open source.
