Dispenser Minecarts
by adamanti
Dispenser Minecarts puts a dispenser or a dropper on a minecart, so the cart can place or move items and blocks along a rail.
What it does
Carts can carry a dispenser or a dropper, and both behave like their vanilla blocks. A dispenser minecart is made by combining a minecart with a dispenser or dropper, following the usual vanilla crafting pattern. Items are placed from the leftmost 3x3 grid of the container, and a powered activator rail triggers the cart.
The dispensers and droppers can be rotated in five directions, and the mod is built to keep performance steady on servers that load hundreds of minecarts, with a low impact on ticks per second. Pairing it with the Dispensers Place Blocks data pack is also supported. The mod is server required and client optional, so the server must run it while players may leave it out. It runs on Fabric, Forge and Quilt, is released under the MIT License, and is open source. Files exist for 1.20.1 and 1.21, and the latest build, 0.0.4, targets 1.21.
Key features
Dispenser and dropper minecarts
Minecarts carry a dispenser or a dropper with the same item handling as the vanilla blocks.
Five-direction rotation
The dispenser and dropper on a cart can be turned to face any of five directions.
Activator rail triggering
A powered activator rail sends a signal to the cart, which then dispenses or drops its contents.
Server-friendly performance
The minecarts are tuned so that servers with many loaded carts keep a low tick-time cost.
