DimensionSpawn
by ezTxmMC
DimensionSpawn sends players to configured coordinates in their dimension when they respawn, using a TOML configuration file.
What it does
When a player dies and respawns, DimensionSpawn places them at spawn coordinates set in the configuration file rather than at the usual bed or world spawn. The coordinates can be given for each dimension, so a player can respawn in the Nether or the End at a chosen point. The behavior is meant to keep respawns part of the game's flow instead of a fixed reset to the world spawn.
The mod supports the Overworld, the Nether and the End, and it works with custom modded dimensions as well. Its spawn settings are stored in a file named dimensionspawn.toml, which is generated the first time the server or client starts. Players can teleport between dimensions by the usual means, and the mod is built to work alongside most dimension teleportation mods.
DimensionSpawn is server required and client optional, so server owners install it on the server and players may add it on their side. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 and for 1.21.1, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.6, 1.21.7 and 1.21.8. The code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Respawn at set coordinates
Players who die respawn at the coordinates set for their dimension, not at a bed or the world spawn.
Per-dimension spawn points
Each dimension can have its own spawn coordinates, covering the Overworld, the Nether, the End and modded dimensions.
TOML configuration file
Spawn coordinates are edited in dimensionspawn.toml, which is created the first time the game starts.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack makers who want respawns to land at chosen points in each dimension. Players only need the mod on their side if they want to use it client-side.
How it compares
Coordinate List is open source under the MIT License and runs server-side with an optional client, across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.20.2 – 1.21.5. Limina is server-side only, licensed under the Apache License 2.0, and covers Forge and NeoForge for 1.19.2 – 1.21.1. Dimension Changer needs both the client and the server, is not open source, and targets 1.20.1 – 1.20.6. DimensionSpawn differs from these in its focus on respawn points, its wider 1.20.1 – 1.21.8 range, and its server-required, client-optional environment.
