Dimensionlock is a Forge management mod that lets server administrators lock dimensions so players cannot break or place blocks in them.
What it does
Administrators run commands to lock and release individual dimensions. While a dimension is locked, ordinary players are stopped from modifying the world there, which covers breaking and placing blocks. Operators are subject to the same restrictions, so a lock applies to everyone who is not on the whitelist.
A whitelist of entities controls who may still attack inside a locked dimension. Entities on the list keep their combat behavior while entities outside it are prevented from attacking. The lock settings are saved automatically and loaded again when the server starts, so a locked dimension stays locked after a restart.
Dimensionlock is published for Forge only, with a single version, 1.0.1 for 1.20.1, released 2025-07-12. Either side can run it, and neither needs it. The code is under the Apache License 2.0, but the project is not open source.
