Depths Reborn
by BellEKS
Depths Reborn, a Forge mod by BellEKS, adds aquatic mobs and ocean-themed transportation to Minecraft 1.20.1 – 1.20.6.
What it does
The mod's work centers on aquatic content: new sea creatures, including a crab, are added alongside a Monster Ocean region that players can explore. Spawn areas for these mobs were added, so they appear in designated ocean zones rather than at random across the map. The author notes that Depths Reborn draws on earlier work from other creators and that its ocean content builds on them.
Transportation is the main category, and the mod adds a mount that players can ride through water, along with a boost ability that increases speed while the mount is in use. Armor for the mount is still listed as unfinished in the author text, so that part is not yet in the mod. Future versions are mentioned as planned, but no timetable is given.
Depths Reborn runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge only, across six release versions 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, and the latest file is 1.0.1 for 1.20.6, released on 2026-10-13. The license is All rights reserved, so the code is not open source.
Key features
Aquatic mobs
New sea creatures, including a crab, populate the ocean areas added by the mod.
Monster Ocean region
An ocean region named Monster Ocean Depths is added, with mobs placed in designated spawn areas.
Rideable mount
A mount can be ridden in the water, and players can use a boost ability to move faster while riding it.
Spawn area control
Mobs appear only inside the spawn areas the mod defines, so their placement follows the ocean layout.

Use cases
Ocean exploration
Players who explore deep water can meet the new aquatic mobs and ride the mount between ocean areas.
Who it’s for: Players who want more sea life and a water mount in a Forge 1.20.x world, and server owners who want the ocean content on a shared server.
How it compares
CrazyMonsters and Interpret are both Forge mods for 1.20.1 with client and server environments and All rights reserved licenses, so each covers a single version where Depths Reborn reaches 1.20.6. Cataclysmic Crab Spawn is also a Forge mod for 1.20.1 with a client and server environment, but it is released under the MIT License. Nauticlysm differs in loaders and environment: it runs on Fabric, Forge and Quilt for 1.20.2 – 1.20.4, and the server is required while the client is optional.
