Deepfalls

by Herobrine011840

Deepfalls is a Forge world generation mod that adds a dimension reached through a portal lit with Encased Grite, found in villages through Deepologist trades.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

The mod adds a new dimension with its own ores, mobs, biomes and a boss. Players reach it by buying a Deepfalls Portal Igniter from a Deepologist villager after the tenth level-up, then placing Encased Grite in a Nether portal frame and lighting it. Deepologists are found in villages, and their houses are shown in the author's images. The author notes that an earlier build could cause the Archminister bosses to spawn by mistake, and recommends updating.

Several new stones are part of the dimension: a common base stone usable for stone tools, decorative variants such as polished stone bricks, a blast-proof uncommon stone found in Erytherite Geodes, and a black Calcite variant inside those geodes. Depth Sandstone and Depth Glass are crafted from the mod's materials, and Gloomvine grows on ceilings, with vines that can be bonemealed into glowing flowers.

Deepfalls runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, and the latest is 1.1.2. The mod is released under All rights reserved, which means it is not open source. It was first published on 2025-09-23 and last updated on 2026-07-11.

Key features

  1. Deepfalls dimension

A separate dimension with its own biomes, ores, mobs and a boss, entered through a lit portal.

  2. Deepologist trades

Deepologist villagers sell Encased Grite and the Portal Igniter as their first trade levels, and Polished Grite Iron is obtained from them.

  3. Dimension stones

Grite, Cobbled Grite and Malskabar-like polished stones are used in stone tools, building and portal crafting.

  4. Tide Pools and Deepdunes

Grite appears through the Tide Pools biome, and Depth Sandstone is crafted from stone found in Deepdunes.

  5. Gloomvine caverns

Gloomvine grows on biome ceilings, denser in the Gloomvine Caverns and sparser in the Crags.

Questions

How does a player get into the Deepfalls dimension?

Buy a Deepfalls Portal Igniter from a Deepologist villager after the tenth level-up. Place Encased Grite in a Nether portal frame and light it with the igniter.

Does Deepfalls need to be installed on the server?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Which Deepfalls file should be used?

Use the 1.1.2 file for 1.20.1, the latest Forge build. The author notes that an earlier build could cause the Archminister bosses to spawn by mistake, so updating is recommended.

What the author says

Special thanks to the Wicks for composing some of the music found in this mod! Important: If you are playing version 1.0.1 and below, it is suggested that you update, as those versions have a bug that causes Archminister bosses to spawn in raids.
