Dangerous Firework
by Doenergepard
Dangerous Firework changes what happens when a firework rocket is used on an Elytra, turning the boost into an explosion that hurts the glider.
What it does
When a player boosts with a firework rocket while flying with an Elytra, the rocket now detonates and deals damage to the player. The mod is meant to make the rocket a riskier choice, so that other ways of gaining speed and distance become worth considering. Higher level rockets keep the same damage but let the player travel farther on a single boost.
The mod is published only for Forge, for Minecraft 1.20.1. It is server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything, and it is released under the MIT License. The latest Forge file is 1.0.0 for 1.20.1, published on 2025-02-17, and the same date is the first publication and last update.
The author notes that the mod is compatible with other mods that add different types of Elytras, such as Cataclysm. Bug reports go to the public issue tracker.
Key features
Exploding rocket boosts
Using a firework rocket while gliding with an Elytra makes the rocket explode and damages the player.
Boost damage on use
Each rocket boost the player takes while flying with an Elytra causes the damage.
Higher level rockets
Higher level rockets deal the same damage as lower level ones but carry the player further.
Alternative travel methods
The change is intended to make other ways of travelling with an Elytra more competitive with rocket boosts.
