Create: Templates & Gears
With Create: Templates & Gears, Armor Trim smithing templates can be produced through Create machinery rather than loot tables, and the mod is built on Create: Enchantment Industry.
What it does
Create: Templates & Gears adds a recipe chain that turns raw materials into Armor Trim Smithing Templates using Create machines. Pressed flat sheets of stone form the basis of each trim's structure, and echo moss placed in a basin is pressed into a charged purified core shard. A Mechanical Arm deploys a diamond shard, a Sequenced Assembly then upgrades the item step by step, and a spout injects XP fluid to finish the template. Each trim has its own recipe, which can be looked up with JEI.
The mod requires Create and Create: Enchantment Industry, and it is compatible with More Armor Trims as an optional companion. Both the server and every player need it, since the recipes are processed on the server. It is released under the MIT License and is open source, with files for 1.20 – 1.21.1 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.
Key features
Machine-based template recipes
Smithing templates are crafted by pressing, basin mixing and assembly instead of being dropped from vanilla loot tables.
Sequenced assembly steps
A Sequenced Assembly recipe applies each upgrade in order, so the finished template depends on the full chain of steps.
Per-trim recipes
Each armor trim has a personal recipe that can be checked in JEI, so the path to every template is visible.
Core shard crafting
Base shards are made from pressed stone, and echo moss in a basin produces the charged purified core shard used later in the chain.

Who it’s for: Players and modpack builders who run Create-based survival worlds and want armor trim templates to come from automation rather than random loot.
How it compares
Progressive Smithing is open source under the MIT License, but it targets 1.21.10 – 1.21.11 on Fabric and NeoForge. Super Trims covers 1.20.1 – 1.21.11 on Fabric and Forge and is not open source. Craftable Smithing Templates is not open source and is server-required with client optional, while this mod needs both sides.

What the author says
Forget vanilla loot tables — now you build your trims like an engineer. The first step is to craft a base shard using various Create machines like the Press and the Basin. Each trim starts its journey as a raw material processed with care.
