Create Regex lets players match Create train station addresses with full regular expressions instead of Create's default glob-style patterns, and the mod is for NeoForge 1.21.1.

What it does

Create uses a simplified glob matching system to decide which train stations a route can reach by address. Create Regex replaces that behavior with Java regular expressions, so a station address can be matched with the full pattern syntax. The mod requires Create to be installed alongside it, because the address matching it changes belongs to Create's train network.

The mod is server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything. Only the server needs Create Regex, and the mod is published for NeoForge 1.21.1 alone, with 1.0.0 as the single file, released 2025-07-18. The mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

  1. Regular expression addresses

    Train station addresses are matched with Java regular expressions, replacing Create's default glob-style patterns.

  2. Prefix-based matching

    A pattern can start with a regex prefix, and the rest of the address is then read as a regular expression.

  3. Whitespace-separated patterns

    Whitespace after an address pattern becomes part of the expression, so a rule can match only addresses that begin with a space.

  4. Exact and partial matches

    Patterns such as hello or helloWorld can match exact names or narrower sets of addresses, depending on how they are written.

This mod adds the ability to replace Create's default glob-style matching for frogs with full Regular Expression (RegEx) support. If RegEx: is followed by a space or other whitespace, that whitespace becomes part of the regular expression — meaning it will only match addresses that start with that space.
