Nek's Command Maker (Client Edition)
by Nekky9180
Players and operators who want custom chat commands can define them as aliases in Nek's Command Maker (Client Edition), a client-side Fabric mod that runs them from the in-game chat.
What it does
An alias maps a short name to a command, so typing the alias in chat runs the command it stands for. The addcommand command creates a new alias, and a separate command deletes an alias along with the command attached to it. Aliases are kept in a plain JSON file named modid alieses.json, which can be edited by hand. Changes to the config can be reloaded without restarting the game.
Only the client needs the mod, so servers run without it and players join without installing anything. Fabric API is required and must be installed alongside it. The mod is published for Fabric, Quilt and Legacy Fabric, with files covering 1.6.1 – 26.2 across 86 release versions. The code is released under Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0, and the mod is not open source.
Key features
Chat-driven aliases
Custom commands are added while playing, by typing an alias and the command it should run in the chat.
Alias removal
A deletion command removes an alias together with the command it was linked to.
Plain JSON storage
Aliases are stored in a simple JSON file, so they can be copied, backed up or edited in a text editor.
Reload without restart
The configuration is reloaded in place, so alias changes take effect without closing the game.

Use cases
Scripting sequences
A single alias can run a chain of commands, which suits repeated actions such as a ritual trigger or a greeting in chat.
Modpack shortcuts
Pack makers can ship a prepared alias file so that players have shortcuts ready at first launch.
Who it’s for: Players who run commands often, and modpack authors who want short named shortcuts to ship with a pack. The mod is client-side, so it suits single-player and multiplayer clients alike.
