Combat Shovels

Combat Shovels turns the shovel into a weapon, giving each shovel-mineable block a distinct combat effect when it is launched from the offhand.
What it does
Holding a block that a shovel can break and launching it from the offhand deals damage at a distance and can stun a target for a short time. Some blocks also carry their own effects: dirt and gravel stun, sand and red sand inflict blindness, and cobblestone and cobbled deepslate trade reach for higher damage and longer stuns. Snow blocks knock targets back hard, end stone teleports a target ten blocks above its position, and an end crystal explodes without destroying terrain, though it still causes lethal harm.
The mod is published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.20.1, and requires both the server and every player to run it, since the combat behavior is handled on each side. The latest Forge file is version 1.1.6, dated 2025-05-12, and the code is All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.

Trapping by burial
A right-click can bury an enemy in the ground, trapping and suffocating it while the block stands soft enough to break.
Block-specific effects
Dirt and gravel stun, sand and red sand blind, and some stone blocks trade range for stronger damage and longer stuns.
Extreme block effects
End stone teleports a target upward, snow knocks it back, and end crystal explodes without breaking blocks but still harms targets badly.
