CobbleTracker (Cobblemon)

by Tausvokse_

CobbleTracker watches Cobblemon's live spawn pool and announces the rare Pokémon that players would otherwise walk past, marking each one with a light column visible from a distance.

FabricNeoForgeClient or server, optionalMIT License1.21.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

When a rare spawn appears near a player, CobbleTracker tracks it and places a light column over the Pokémon, which stays visible in the world even at a distance. Tracked spawns persist through a reconnect or relog, so a player who leaves and returns finds the marker still in place, and it is removed once the Pokémon is gone. Each spawn can also be shown on the minimap as a waypoint, and a browsable history keeps a record of everything that has appeared.

The mod reads the spawn pool Cobblemon uses at runtime rather than a fixed list, so it reports real data whatever datapack is installed. Its legendary table lives in legendaries.yml and uses the same vocabulary as Cobblemon's own spawn files. A configurable chance per attempt, a cooldown, and a countdown to the next attempt let server owners tune how often rare spawns show up. Plain chat works without the client mod, and announcements can carry a clickable Create Waypoint link. Per-category announcements can be rewritten, which limits announcements to the categories a server wants.

CobbleTracker is a companion that requires Cobblemon on Fabric or NeoForge. It runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 and Java 21. Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge across 11 release versions, 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, under the MIT License, and the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Light-column spawn markers

A column of light stands over each tracked Pokémon, so it can be found from a distance and from inside caves.

  2. Live spawn pool

The mod reads Cobblemon's spawn pool at runtime and reports the spawns that matter, regardless of the installed datapack.

  3. Persistent tracking

Tracked spawns survive a reconnect or relog and are removed once the Pokémon is no longer there.

  4. Minimap waypoints and history

Each spawn can be dropped onto the minimap, and a browsable history records everything that has appeared.

  5. Configurable announcements

Per-category announcements can be rewritten, and a clickable Create Waypoint link can accompany each one.

Questions

Does CobbleTracker require Cobblemon?

Yes. The mod is a companion and does not work on its own, so Cobblemon must be installed alongside it.

Does a server need CobbleTracker for players to use it?

No. It works on either side, and neither needs it. Installing it on the server is enough for announcements and tracking, and plain chat works without the client mod.

Which loaders and versions does CobbleTracker support?

It is published for Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, with the latest Fabric file at 1.1.0 for 1.21.11 and the latest NeoForge file at 1.1.0 for 1.21.1.
