Clay Soldiers is a Forge mobs mod that recreates the clay soldier and dirt horse units of an older Minecraft beta, with a Clay Disruptor for crowd control.
What it does
Clay soldiers are crafted from clay balls, a stick and a clay ball over another clay ball, with a redstone variant for the rarer types. Each soldier belongs to a team set by dye: a dyed soldier attacks soldiers of the other team in sight, while grey soldiers stay neutral and only strike back after being hit. Soldiers also seek out dropped items on the ground and items inside chests. A gold ingot joins the set as a heavy core, and each team can have one king, which other soldiers treat as the priority target.
Dirt horses are built from dirt and soul sand, and they carry riders at a longer, slower pace. The Clay Disruptor hurls rocks at foes positioned a short distance away, dealing 4 damage each, and a soldier that dies explodes and leaves drops. The mod runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and files are published for Forge only, for 1.20.1 and 1.20.2 under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license, which is not open source.

Soldiers swing a weapon with 15 swings and hit for 3 to 4 damage at a longer reach, and armour halves incoming damage.

A ranged item that hurls rocks at foes a short distance away, dealing 4 damage per rock.
Healing and death effects
Four portions of healing restore health below 15, and a soldier that dies explodes and leaves drops.
