Squidward's Clarinet

The clarinet has two actions bound to the mouse. A normal right-click attack starts after a 5-second delay, while holding Shift and right-clicking performs a stronger attack that lasts 5 more seconds, for 10 seconds in total. Two quartz buttons and one music device are part of the instrument's controls, and the weapon is built from a model and texture of its own.

Freezing mobs is the main effect of the instrument: a player who plays it can hold back nearby creatures while the tune lasts. Because the mod is listed under Decoration with Equipment and Utility alongside, it reads more as a themed item than as a general gameplay overhaul. The author notes describe the weapon as a new musical mechanic and say the work was prepared with some surprises still to come.

The mod runs only on Forge for 1.20.1, with the latest file 0.9 published on 2023-11-06 on the beta channel. Client and server: the server and every player need it. Snapshot builds are not part of the release, and the code is not open source, since the mod is released under All rights reserved.
