Chunk Challenge
by felixthein
Chunk Challenge turns a survival run into a challenge where each new chunk entered transforms the surroundings for the player.
What it does
Each player has a personal world border that locks them inside their current chunk. Inside it a random mob spawns, and every block in the chunk is replaced with one randomly selected block type. A glowing mob blocks the path out until it is defeated, after which the border moves on to the next chunk. Each player advances on their own, and the state of every player is kept separately for the world they play in.
The challenge is active once entering a new chunk triggers it, and the mod offers several difficulty modes with progressive difficulty scaling. Clearing challenges can grant optional reward chests and milestone rewards. Admin and debug commands support testing, and the command chunkchallenge help lists the full command information. The mod is designed for multiplayer and works on servers without a client mod.
Installation needs Fabric on the server, and the mod is published for Fabric only, for 1.21.11. A server must run Chunk Challenge, while players may leave it out, since it works without a client mod. The code is released under the MIT License, which allows free use and modification, but the project is not open source.
