Bladebound
by omueller51
Bladebound is a Fabric mod that adds named swords, a light magic system built around staves and mana, and cursed items obtained through exploration and crafting.
What it does
Bladebound adds named swords with unique effects, each tied to a place in the world. Some are found inside world-generated shrines and ancient structures, some come from Wither Skeleton drops or Piglin bartering, and some are crafted, such as Sandai Kitetsu, which requires a cursed component from the Nether. Murasame, Excalibur and Frieren's Staff are the rarest items and are obtained through exploration or crafting rather than trading.
The mod treats its weapons as a survival progression path. Spell knowledge is gathered by travelling and finding ruins instead of at crafting tables, and the Cooldown Bracelet changes how quickly casts recover. An in-game Codex documents the weapons, the magic rules and where each item can be found.
Bladebound is open source under the MIT License and runs on Fabric Loader. Files exist for Minecraft 1.21.1 and 1.21.11, and the latest file, 2.0.0, targets 1.21.11.
Key features
Named legendary swords
Swords such as Excalibur and Murasame deal bonus damage to undead or inflict a curse on the wielder when they hit.
Staff-based spellcasting
A light magic system centers on staves and mana, and spells are discovered in the world rather than granted at a table.
Cursed gear and curse risk
Murasame Gauntlets shield the wielder from curses, while items like Sandai Kitetsu can be dangerous to use without protection.
In-game Codex
A codex inside the game explains the weapons, the magic rules and where each item is obtained.
