Better Enchant Command

by aaravchour

Better Enchant Command is a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge mod that removes the vanilla limits on the /enchant command and on anvil merging.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverGNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.21.1 – 26.2

What it does

With the mod installed, the standard /enchant command accepts levels beyond the vanilla caps, so Sharpness 1000 or Efficiency 255 can be applied to an item. Its anvil changes remove the cost limit, let high-level items merge without the Too Expensive message, and allow an enchantment onto an item it would normally be incompatible with. Each of these anvil behaviors can be switched off in the config, and the in-game configuration screen toggles features without editing files.

Enchantment levels are shown with Arabic or classic Roman numerals, and item tooltips display levels up to 10 and above. Players who want custom levels on an item can use the normal command syntax, and the mod takes care of applying it even when usual caps would block the level.

Fabric API is required on Fabric. Mod Menu is optional and adds integration with its configuration screen. Both sides of a connection must run the mod. The code is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later, making it open source. Files cover 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2 and 26.2, with 1.1.0+26.2 as the latest build for each loader.

Key features

  1. Command level limits removed

The /enchant command accepts levels above the vanilla maximum, so items can carry very high enchantment levels.

  2. Anvil cost and merge limits

Merging high-level items no longer triggers the Too Expensive message, and the cost limit is removed.

  3. Incompatible enchantments allowed

An enchantment can be applied to an item it would normally reject, and this behavior is configurable.

  4. Roman or Arabic numerals

Enchantment levels display as classic Roman numerals or modern Arabic numbers, selected in the settings.

  5. In-game configuration

Features are toggled from an in-game screen, with Mod Menu integration available as an optional dependency.
