Beta Recipe Tweaks

by Trod

Beta Recipe Tweaks changes several crafting recipes for stairs, slabs, wool and powered rails in Minecraft Beta b1.7 – b1.7.3.

ModLoaderClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen sourceb1.7 – b1.7.3

What it does

Stair recipes can be set to yield 8 stairs instead of 4, or built from three materials in an L shape for 4 stairs. Slab recipes can yield 6 slabs instead of 3. Wool can be dyed one color per dye in the crafting table, or 8 wool can be made from a single dye. Powered rails can yield 16 instead of 8. Each change is switched on or off in a config file, and the defaults keep the vanilla behavior.

Sessions in multiplayer need matching configs on the server and on every client, or the recipes will differ between them. A recipe gallery with images of all changed recipes is provided by the author. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with a public source code repository and an issue tracker. It is published for ModLoader only, with files for b1.7, b1.7.2 and b1.7.3.

Key features

  1. Larger stair output

A stair recipe can return 8 stairs, instead of the vanilla 4, from the same materials.

  2. L-shaped mini stair recipe

Stairs can be crafted from three blocks of one material in an L shape and yield 4 stairs.

  3. Larger slab output

A slab recipe can return 6 slabs instead of 3, reducing the crafting needed for building.

  4. Dye-based wool coloring

Wool is dyed one color per dye at the crafting table, or 8 wool can be made from one dye.

  5. Bigger powered rail batch

A powered rail recipe can yield 16 rails instead of 8, and each option is set in the config file.

No per-version build data
Modrinth lists game versions for this project (b1.7 – b1.7.3), but the source data has no build per game version and loader, so the compatibility grid is not shown.
