With Barnyard Buddies installed, farm animal breeds such as the Jacob's Sheep and the Cochin Bantam Chicken appear in the world alongside vanilla livestock.
What it does
Several farm animal breeds from real-world livestock are added in a vanilla-like style by Barnyard Buddies. Some of them spawn only in certain biomes across the world, and they appear next to the regular vanilla animals with their own skins and mob entries. Breeds include the Hampshire Pig, the Clydesdale Horse, the Great Pyrenees Dog, the Manx Cat, the House Mouse, the Flemish Giant Rabbit, the Selkie Chicken and the Cochin Bantam Chicken.
Some breeds have features beyond their skin. Jacob's Sheep drops spotted wool, and the Hampshire Pig works in a way similar to its vanilla counterpart. The mod also adds decorative blocks for homesteads and animal pens, such as Chainlink Mesh Barn walls, Chainlink Doors and Iron Corrals. The mod runs on Forge and NeoForge, and it needs to be present on both the client and the server.
Files are published for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The Forge build is 0.6.4 for 1.20.1 and the NeoForge build is 0.6.4 for 1.21.1, both dated 2026-04-10. The mod is licensed as All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
