Backrooms: The Complex

Backrooms: The Complex is a NeoForge world generation mod that adds multiple explorable Backrooms levels based on wiki entries, and it is in an early release.
What it does
The mod recreates Backrooms levels drawn from the Backrooms wiki, with blocks and items unique to the mod. Only levels 0 and 1 are available so far, and further levels, mechanics and entities are planned for later updates. A survival mode is included, and the design favors a vanilla-style feel with thirst and sanity systems rather than cheap jumpscares or random monsters.
The config lets server owners control noclipping and portal access into the Backrooms. Exploration is meant for multiplayer, so friends can explore together. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Files target 1.21.1 only, and the latest NeoForge build is 0.1.3, released in the beta channel on 2026-06-11. The code is under the Apache License 2.0, and the project is not open source.
