AutoLandingWater places a water bucket under the player automatically when a long fall begins, so the landing is softened.
What it does
When the player drops a long way, the mod uses a water bucket from the hand to create a water landing. The aim is to protect the player's survival in falls that are common during high-altitude construction, canyon exploration and similar tasks. Detection of the fall happens without extra buttons, so nothing has to be pressed in the moment.
The mod runs on Fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1 – 1.21.8 and works on a client alone, a server alone or both, so either side can run it and neither needs it. It is released under the MIT License and is open source.

Three-block trigger
The landing starts at three blocks or more of falling height, which covers the falls that cause the most damage.
No extra input
The trigger is detected on its own, so the player does not need extra buttons while climbing or exploring.
