Anticrashy
by Stormie_QT
Anticrashy is a server-side watchdog that tries to keep a dedicated server running when a mod misbehaves, instead of stopping it outright.
What it does
When an event handler fails, a class loads on a dedicated server although it only exists on the client, or a RuntimeDistCleaner exception is raised, the mod logs the problem and gathers diagnostic information so the server can keep running where possible. Many non-critical exceptions are caught and suppressed at the point where they occur, before they can become fatal. The stated goal is not to hide bugs but to keep the server alive long enough for them to be identified and fixed.
Server tick times are monitored, and a hang is detected before the vanilla watchdog intervenes. When the server gets stuck, Anticrashy tries to identify the blocking threads and act on them. Depending on the configuration, online players can be told that the server is experiencing severe lag and that recovery actions are being taken. An optional JVM shutdown hook can relaunch the server after it stops. On Minecraft 1.21.1 and on builds from 1.20 onward, AntiCrashy keeps a server running, but it cannot patch a mod that is itself broken.
Key features
Crash suppression
Non-critical exceptions raised during entity ticks and event handlers are caught where they occur.
Hang detection
Server tick times are watched, so a stalled server is noticed before the vanilla watchdog acts.
Escalating warnings
Warning levels rise as a problem persists, and thread dumps are captured automatically for later analysis.
Optional restart hook
A JVM shutdown hook can relaunch the server after shutdown, which reduces time offline.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who run several mods and want the server to survive isolated failures long enough to investigate them.
