Aetherium

by Izarya

Aetherium adds a netherite-like material, obtained by breaking an ore that generates in the Overworld between Y -16 and Y 16 near spawn biomes.

FabricClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21

What it does

Aetherium adds a material slightly stronger than netherite, along with an ore that generates in small amounts in the Overworld between Y -16 and Y 16, only within spawn biomes. The ore requires a diamond pickaxe or better to break, and each block drops exactly one shard, regardless of enchantments on the tool.

Four shards placed together with four diamonds in a crafting table, in any arrangement, yield an Aetherium Ingot. Combining that ingot with a netherite tool at a smithing table through the Aetherium Smithing Upgrade produces an Aetherium tool. Crafting recipes are shown in the mod's gallery.

Aetherium runs on Fabric only, with files for 1.20.1, 1.20.2 and 1.21. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The latest Fabric file is 1.1.2-1.20.1 for 1.20.2, published on 2024-12-17. The code is not open source; the mod is licensed under All rights reserved, though public links to its source code exist.

Key features

  1. Aetherium material

A material slightly stronger than netherite, produced from the ingot and used for tools made by smithing.

  2. Spawn-biome ore

Aetherium Shard Ore generates in small amounts in the Overworld between Y -16 and Y 16, only in spawn biomes.

  3. Diamond-pickaxe mining

The ore needs a diamond pickaxe or better and drops a single shard, whatever enchantments the tool carries.

  4. Shapeless ingot recipe

Four shards and four diamonds placed together in a crafting table, in any arrangement, create an Aetherium Ingot.

  5. Smithing upgrade

The Aetherium Smithing Upgrade combines the ingot with a netherite tool to make an Aetherium tool.
