Actual Villagers changes how villagers look and sound, with a retextured base skin, added hair, distinct human faces and English speech tied to each profession.

What it does

Villagers receive a retextured base skin with hair and faces drawn from a range of ethnicities, so the population in a world looks less uniform. Their appearance is meant to read as more realistic, and the profession is visible at a glance. The author plans further visual changes based on player feedback.

Villager sounds are replaced with spoken English phrases that match each profession and gender, in place of the earlier vocal noises. The mod is a Fabric client and server mod for 26.2, so both the server and every player need it. The code is not open source and the files are released under All rights reserved.

I will continue to improve the visuals of the villagers as I update this mod and get feedback about what needs improvement. You will enjoy hearing the villagers chat in english instead of whatever annoying sounds they made before. You will also notice distinct human faces of ALL diverse ethnicities.
