Accessory API

by Slainlight

Accessory API is a library for Minecraft Beta b1.7.3 that gives mods a shared set of accessory slots for items worn outside the armor slots.

FabricBabricOrnitheClient and serverCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen sourceb1.7.3

What it does

Accessory slots are defined for item types such as pendant, cape, shield, ring, gloves and misc, and a mod can add its own custom accessory type. Items declare their type through a getAccessoryTypes method, and a slot can be clicked with the item passed to the handling function.

The library also ships built-in accessory renderers for capes, gloves and necklaces, and a configurable renderer, used in the same way as entity renderers. Tam's Backpacks and Coolbelt require it. It is published for Fabric, Babric and Ornithe on b1.7.3 only, and the code is open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license. Snapshot builds are published as well. Client and server both need it.

Key features

  1. Accessory types

Items can be assigned default or custom accessory types, including pendant, cape, shield, ring and gloves.

  2. Slot handling

Clicking an accessory slot passes the item to the handler, and slot information is exposed for other mods.

  3. Built-in renderers

Capes, gloves, necklaces and a configurable renderer are included and follow the pattern of entity renderers.
