What it does

Players take part in a round of a murder mystery, where one player is secretly the murderer and the others try to identify them. The mod gives every participant a weapon, so any player can become a threat, including the innocent ones. It is a minigame for group play on a server, and it is available for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for 1.21.11 only. Server installation is required, while the client mod is optional. The mod is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Murder mystery rounds

A round assigns one hidden murderer among the players, and the rest must work out who it is before a victim is killed.

  2. Armed participants

Everyone starts with a gun, knife or telecommunicator, which turns each player into a possible threat.

  3. Simple round design

The author scoped the minigame to a small, quickly finished game that the whole group can play together.

What the author says

A Murder Mystery is a simple murder mystery game where everyone has a gun, a knife, and a telecommunicator, it was originally intended to be bigger but the scope was too large, so I quickly finished it so everyone could play.
