Whaleborne

The hullback is a mob that lives in deep ocean biomes. Players can tame it and add a saddle plus armor, and it can be controlled only through the new helm item. Hullbacks are friendly but can become covered in gunk, which is cleaned off with an axe or shears. Buried treasure and sunken ships can be uncovered during exploration, and a stirring creature at depth hints at a larger threat.

The ship is assembled from parts. Banners apply to sails, and a water bucket returns a sail to its previous state. Anchors lower and raise with the helm, and cannons fire with the spacebar once gunpowder is loaded. Stacked barnacles make different sounds as the stack rises up to nine blocks, and the hullback and cannon inventories open with the E key. Widgets such as trinkets, sails and cannons attach to the hullback.

Whaleborne runs on Forge and NeoForge only, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. It is open source under the MIT License, and its source code is public. Because the environment is client and server, both the server and every player need the mod. Whaleborne - Yeet Cannonry! Addon depends on it.
