Waystones Cooldown
by rymusov
Waystones Cooldown adds a configurable wait after a player teleports through a waystone, before that player can teleport again.
What it does
The cooldown is applied to each player individually, so one traveler waiting does not hold up others on the same server. Its duration comes from a value in the mod's configuration file, and by default a player must wait 30 seconds before using a waystone again. The mod is an addon for the Waystones mod, which adds the ability to edit teleportation cooldowns between waystones, and it covers the waystone block itself as well as the Warp Stone and Warp Scroll.
The mod is meant for survival worlds and multiplayer servers that want fast travel to cost some time, which helps balance how quickly players can move around. Because it is installed next to Waystones, it changes only the timing of waystone teleports and leaves the rest of the travel system alone. Forge and NeoForge builds are published for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, with 1.1.0 for 1.21.1 as the latest file on the beta channel.
Waystones Cooldown is released under the MIT License and is not open source. The environment is client and server, so servers and every player need the mod, and it is not meant for a single-player install that lacks Waystones.
Key features
Per-player cooldown
Each player waits on a personal timer after a teleport, so other players can still travel freely.
Configurable duration
The cooldown length is set in the mod's configuration file, with 30 seconds as the default value.
Covers all waystone travel
The delay applies to the waystone block, the Warp Stone and the Warp Scroll alike.
Adds to Waystones
The cooldown is a timing layer on top of the Waystones teleport system, not a replacement for it.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners and players who run Waystones in survival or adventure worlds and want a configurable pause between teleports.
How it compares
Create Waystones Recipes is a Forge and NeoForge addon for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 that changes how waystones are crafted, and it is not open source under All rights reserved. Mo Waystones is a NeoForge-only mod for 1.21.1, also under All rights reserved, and it works on both client and server. Waystones Cooldown targets the same loaders and range as Create Waystones Recipes but changes teleport timing, not recipes.
