VS Safe and Sound
by Lancas0
VS Safe and Sound keeps a world loading when Valkyrien Skies addons are removed or fail during save loading, and it catches exceptions on the VS physics thread.
What it does
The mod sits on top of Valkyrien Skies and handles errors that would otherwise stop a world from opening. It catches exceptions thrown on the VS physics thread, which prevents that thread from crashing, and it skips leftover addon data while a save is loading. Removing a Valkyrien Skies addon can leave data behind that blocks a world from loading, and the mod is meant to let such a world open anyway. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Valkyrien Skies is required. Files are published for Fabric and Forge, for 1.20.1 only, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Physics thread protection
Exceptions raised on the VS physics thread are caught, so a single error does not bring that thread down.
Addon removal recovery
Worlds can keep loading after a Valkyrien Skies addon has been removed from the modpack.
Leftover data skipping
Addon data left over in a save is skipped during loading instead of stopping the load.
