TransparentCapesPatch
by donmor3000
TransparentCapesPatch changes how capes render on the client, so that a cape image shows its transparent areas instead of a solid black fill.
What it does
The patch is a port of a known CustomSkinLoader fix that draws capes transparently. It is meant for players who load skins through authlib-injector and see black, solid areas culled onto their capes. Client-side only, so only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it. Builds exist for Fabric and Forge across 17 release versions, 1.18 – 1.21.1, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the code is open source.
Key features
Transparent cape rendering
Cape textures keep their transparent pixels, so the areas that should be see-through no longer appear as solid black.
authlib-injector skin loading
The fix targets skins loaded through authlib-injector, the setup the patch was written for.
Ported from CustomSkinLoader
The patch adapts a well-known CustomSkinLoader fix that was originally patched by ZekerZhayard.

What the author says
This tiny Minecraft mod ported a patch from the well-known CustomSkinLoader, making capes rendered transparently. It is for who want to use only authlib-injector to load their skin but is bothered by the black solid stuffing in their culled capes. Originally patched by ZekerZhayard.
