TFMG Converter Fix

by Aneemonas

TFMG Converter Fix repairs the Converter block in TFMG, which stayed at 0 V, 0 A and 0 W on NeoForge 1.21.1 under the bug described below.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.21.1

What it does

The Converter block moves stored FE into the electrical system that TFMG provides, yet it could show U 0V 0A and P 0W indefinitely, even when the network was fully powered and valid. The fault came from timing: the electrical network calculates its resistance on a schedule, and the Converter's voltage-generation check reads that value only once. If the check ran before the resistance was calculated, it locked to zero and never ran again. The mod resolves this so the check is repeated once the resistance is known.

The patch works alongside the Create compatibility patch and requires TFMG itself. It fixes the Converter in the affected TFMG branch. Later TFMG builds and the Community Edition already fix the timing issue natively and remove the old Converter block, so the mod detects them and skips reapplying its change.

The mod is published for NeoForge only, for 1.21.1, with 2.0.0 as the latest file. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. The code is released under the MIT License, but the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Working Converter output

The Converter reports real voltage and current once the network has a valid resistance, instead of staying at zero.

  2. Default output mode

The Converter starts in output mode when placed, so players no longer need to tap it with a wrench first.

  3. Omnidirectional cable connection

The Converter accepts an electrical cable on any side instead of one fixed side set by its facing.

  4. Automatic version detection

The patch checks the installed TFMG build and skips its change where the Converter is already fixed or replaced.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Players and server owners running an affected TFMG build on NeoForge 1.21.1 who rely on the Converter block to power a network.

Questions

Does TFMG Converter Fix require TFMG?

Yes. The mod requires TFMG to be installed, and it only changes the Converter block that TFMG adds.

Do both the server and players need TFMG Converter Fix?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Does the fix apply to every TFMG build?

No. It targets the affected branch, where the Converter bug occurs. Later builds and the Community Edition already fix the timing issue, so the mod detects them and skips its change.
