What it does

Smithing template descriptions replaces the item names of smithing templates with detailed, multi-line formatted descriptions. Each template shows its usage and duplication lore, so the tooltip explains what the item does rather than only naming it. The author describes this as a clarity improvement that goes further than resource packs can reach.

It runs on the client alone, so a server does not need to install it, and the author notes it is generally compatible with other client-side visual mods. Reported incompatibilities should be sent to the author.

Installation requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API. Files are published for Fabric only, for 12 release versions, 1.20.1 – 1.21.5, and the latest file is 1.1.0 for 1.20.6, dated 2025-07-02. The mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
