Rick's Portal Gun mod brings Rick Sanchez's Portal Gun into Minecraft 1.20.1, letting players open portals between places and walk through them.
What it does
Players craft the gun from high-tech materials, with recipes tuned for mid-to-late game progression, and the JEI recipe view lists the ingredients. Aiming at a surface and right-clicking fires a green fluid portal onto solid blocks, and walking into a portal teleports the player to its paired destination. Holding Ctrl and right-clicking opens a dimension and coordinate selection menu, so a portal can link to a specific location in the Overworld, Nether, End or other modded dimensions.
The mod is aimed at players who want faster routes than long walks through the Nether highways, and it uses a detailed 3D model of the gun. Installation needs Fabric API on Fabric, and Forge files are also published. The mod runs on client and server, so servers and every player need it, and it is released under the MIT License, though its code is not open source. Builds target 1.20.1 only, with the latest Fabric and Forge files both dated 2026-08-11.
