ReviveToken

by link-fgfgui

ReviveToken lets a player who dies spend a Revive Token to respawn at the spot where they fell, once the required number of tokens is held.

NeoForgeClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.21.1

What it does

Tokens drop when a player dies, so a death leaves a supply to draw on later. A Revive button then appears on the death screen once the player holds enough tokens. Pressing it consumes the configured number of tokens and returns the player to the respawn spot. Changing the cost setting sets how many tokens each revival uses, and changing the token setting sets which item is consumed upon revival.

Tokens are also obtainable through trades: a Wandering Trader offers a common trade and a rare trade with the mod's recipes added. Setting the notrade option to true disables those added trade recipes, leaving the drop mechanic and the revive button in place. Server owners who run a survival world with a set trade economy can therefore keep the tokens to deaths only.

The mod is for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1 only. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The code is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and it is open source, with public links to the source code and the issue tracker. A Fabric and Forge 1.20.1 port is mentioned by the author, but no such files are listed for this card.

Key features

  1. Respawn spot revival

A Revive Token consumed on death returns the player to the respawn spot instead of the world spawn.

  2. Token drops on death

Tokens drop when a player dies, so the supply comes from play rather than only from trades.

  3. Configurable item and cost

The item consumed upon revival and the number of tokens per revival can both be changed in the config file.

  4. Wandering Trader trades

Common and rare trades for the tokens are added to the Wandering Trader, and the notrade option removes them.
