Responsive Knockback
by revvilo
Responsive Knockback removes the delay between an attack and its knockback, so the mob's position and the client's view match on the same tick.
What it does
Knockback in the base game can appear late on the client because the position update arrives after a fixed delay. Responsive Knockback applies the knockback effect and resynchronizes the mob's position soon after the hit, which addresses bug MC-297196. Players then see the knockback land at the same moment as the attack. The mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source. It is published for NeoForge only, across 14 release versions 1.20.4 – 1.21.10, with 1.1 for 1.21.10 as the latest file.
Key features
Immediate knockback
The delay before a knockback takes effect is removed, so the push starts on the attack tick.
Position resync
Entity positions are synchronized again right after the knockback is applied, instead of on a later tick.
Consistent client view
Clients no longer show knockback at an inconsistent delay compared with the server, which keeps hits readable.
