Particle Crash Defender
by Kkitsuu
Particle Crash Defender filters incoming particle packets on the Fabric client so that flooding them cannot freeze or crash Minecraft.
What it does
Before the game processes a particle packet, the mod checks it against three safety limits. Packets carrying unrealistic particle counts are dropped, the number of particle packets accepted per second is capped, and particles spawning each second are held under a ceiling. Normal visuals still render, while extreme floods that would overwhelm the client are blocked.
The mod is a client-side only Fabric mod, so players install it and servers do not need it. It is published for Fabric alone and covers 22 release versions 1.20 – 26.1.2, with the latest file for 26.1.2 dated 2026-04-29. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Optional debug logging can be switched on for troubleshooting.
