Oooze

by {cj}²

Oooze adds splatter and blood effects to mob hits, deaths and projectiles, built on the Goop API for Fabric.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20 – 1.20.6

What it does

Projectiles and damage events produce colored splatters, and different mobs leave distinct effects. Turtle eggs splatter when smashed, while skeletons and similar mobs do not. Slime honey and slime blocks are handled through a block registry, and dye items, including thrown dye depots, create a splatter on impact. Hitting a sheep changes its color accordingly.

The mod ships with Goop bundled inside it, so Goop does not have to be installed separately, but Fabric API is required and must be present. Its config options cover velocity scaling, custom textures per splatter, and fun settings such as confetti and super explosions on a kill. Dyed blocks and modded blocks can be added through configs, and vanilla mobs are supported. Oooze runs on client and server and is published for Fabric only, with files for 1.20 – 1.20.6 under the MIT License and open source code.

The author notes that the Goop API lets other mods add their own blood fluids and gushy effects, and the source code and issue tracker are public. Oooze is open source under the MIT License, and its latest Fabric file targets 1.20.6 in the beta channel.

You'll find that different mobs have distinct splatter effects, and some projectiles will also have unique effects. All dyes (including those from dye depot) can be thrown to create a…
