ObsidianOverhaul
by JLLouto
ObsidianOverhaul turns obsidian and crying obsidian into a full tool, weapon, armor and decoration progression for survival play.
What it does
Players can craft a set of tools, weapons and armor from obsidian and from crying obsidian, the latter positioned as the strongest tier for late-game progression. The additions stay close to vanilla gameplay, so the new items behave like the existing ones and fit into a normal survival run. Storage blocks and a large group of decorative blocks extend the material beyond portals.
The mod offers obsidian-themed blocks in many shapes and finishes, including polished variants, which suits dark, fortified builds. A spear weapon is introduced for Minecraft 1.21.11, and it follows vanilla spear mechanics while using the obsidian progression.
The mod is distributed for Fabric and NeoForge, and the environment is client and server, so players and the server both need it. Builds cover 1.21 – 26.2 across 10 release versions. The license is All rights reserved, so the code is not open source. The author maintains a public issue tracker.
