What it does

NewTrials backports trial chambers to 1.20.1 with small changes to the original design. The structure is expanded, and the spawner systems follow the newer behavior, so chambers can be explored in worlds that were created before the feature existed. The mod also brings the breeze and bogged mobs along with their boss fight, and the cartographer's map functionality that comes with the newer releases.

Copper doors, copper trapdoors and copper bulbs join the other blocks and items taken from the latest versions. The mechanics and behavior of the backported content stay as close to vanilla as possible. The mod is intended for players who want new content in a modpack, for mod developers who build on top of it, and for anyone who wants a simple vanilla backport with additional customization options.

NewTrials runs on client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. It is published for Forge only, for the single game version 1.20.1, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
