No Surface Mineshafts
by Fnige
No Surface Mineshafts is a data pack that removes surface mineshafts generated inside mesa and badlands biomes.
What it does
The pack targets mineshafts that generate on the surface of mesa terrain and removes them, so those biomes no longer carry the vanilla shafts. Mineshafts still generate in mesa biomes below ground, and the pack leaves the underground placement in place. Dark oak mineshafts are not affected by this change. Server owners install it as a data pack, and the server requires it while clients may leave it out.
Key features
Surface mineshaft removal
Removes the mineshafts that appear on the surface of mesa and badlands terrain.
Underground mineshafts kept
Mineshafts still generate underground in mesa biomes, so the change is limited to the surface.
Dark oak mineshafts unchanged
The pack does not touch the dark oak mineshaft type, which still spawns in mesa biomes.
