Players who want early survival to last longer can use Natural Progression, a Forge world generation mod that changes how trees and the early game behave.

What it does

Natural Progression adds a realistic early-game pace by stopping players from gathering wood by punching trees with bare hands. A tool is needed to harvest logs, so the first hours of a world follow a more deliberate sequence of resources. The mod runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it, and it is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, making it open source.

    Trees cannot be broken by hand, which pushes early play toward crafting a tool before wood is collected.

  2. Realistic early game

    The change targets the opening of a survival world, where the first resources set the pace for everything after.
