Moss Ruins
by LordGacie
Moss Ruins is a world generation data pack that adds new structures to birch forest biomes.
What it does
Birch forests are often sparse in vanilla, and the pack adds small single buildings and larger ruined cities scattered through them. Structures spawn during normal world generation, so new worlds gain them without extra steps. The pack is built as a vanilla-like addition and is meant to pair with the Terralith data pack. Because it is a data pack, the server needs it installed, while clients may leave it out. Builds cover 1.18.2 – 26.2 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the code is released under the MIT License, though it is not open source.
Key features
Birch forest structures
Small buildings and ruins spawn in birch forests, giving those biomes more landmarks to find while exploring.
Ruined cities
Larger ruined cities appear in scattered locations around forests, varying the layout from one world to the next.
Vanilla-like placement
Structures follow the style of the base game and spawn during normal world generation, with no special setup.
