MemirZabri's Mob Picker Mod is a Forge mod for 1.12.2 that lets players pick up mobs and carry them to other places.
What it does
The mod lets a player capture a mob and move it from one spot to another, which suits transport and mob-handling setups on a server. Only the server needs it, so players can join without installing anything. The mod is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0 license and is not open source. Files exist for 1.12.2 only, with 1.0 for 1.12.2 as the latest Forge file.
