LinearXP
by tuxedo-cat
LinearXP swaps the exponential experience curve common in RPG-style Minecraft mods for a configurable linear one, on Forge for 1.7.10.
What it does
The mod changes how many experience points each level requires, replacing an exponential curve with a linear one whose values can be set in the configuration. Because older Forge versions lacked a way to perform this change directly, the mod works by hooking into the experience events that Forge provides. The server and every player need the mod installed. Its only published build targets 1.7.10, and it is released under the Apache License 2.0, making the code open source.
Key features
Linear experience curve
Each level costs a fixed step more experience than the one before, rather than a steeper exponential increase.
Configurable values
The steepness of the linear curve can be adjusted in the configuration file to suit a server's pacing.
Event-based changes
The curve is applied by hooking into Forge experience events, since older Forge releases offered no other way to alter it.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.

What the author says
An independent mod for 1.7.10 that changes the bad RPG style exponential XP curve to a configurable linear one. It was made due to a lack of any existing mod that performs similar functions for sub-1.8 because of the limitations in Forge's event hooking.
