LandOfSignals (Railroad Signal Mod)
by markenjaden
LandOfSignals adds a wide set of railroad signals to Minecraft, with signal boxes that let players address and control them from one place.
What it does
Signals are placed from a signals tab in the creative inventory: a player selects a signal, then places it at the desired location, and a signal box can be placed to address signals through a universal signal box. Each signal shows the redstone state it receives, with the displayed image changing as the state changes. The height of each signal can be set on its own, so a signal can be assembled and put on top of other parts while still matching the track it serves. Heights can be adapted to suit different rail setups.
The content covers many railroad signals and assets drawn from railway systems in different countries. The mod is compatible with existing railroad mods, and the Traincraft, Zora Densha and Immersive Railroading mods are named as examples of that compatibility. Custom content is supported: the author documents how to create new signals, which suits modpacks that need specific national designs. The project is still in progress, so some performance settings are not yet finished, and the author recommends making a backup of the world before updating. The license is All rights reserved, and the mod is not open source.
Key features
Many railroad signals
Signal models cover many different railroad signal designs, including assets from several countries.
Universal signal box
Signals can be addressed through a signal box, so one control point can drive several signals.
Redstone-driven signal images
A signal's displayed image changes with the redstone signal it receives, showing its current state.
Independent signal height
Each signal's height is set separately, so it can be built up from parts and fitted to different tracks.
Custom signals
Players and pack makers can add their own signals, and the author provides instructions for creating them.
