Iron Ice

by StudioK

Iron Ice lets players upgrade regular ice through six material tiers, from Copper up to Netherite, and each tier increases how fast boats and other entities slide across it.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.16.5 – 1.21.1

What it does

Upgrading uses common Minecraft materials, so the progression stays inside vanilla resources. The higher tiers also speed up players, boats, mobs and dropped items, which makes ice roads and racing tracks more practical to build.

The mod is aimed at transportation builds, letting players craft long ice roads or racing circuits where faster sliding matters. It runs on client and server, so a server and every player on it need the mod. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, covering the game versions 1.16.5 – 1.21.1 across four release versions, with 1.0.3 as the latest file for both loaders. The license is All rights reserved, so the project is not open source. Future updates are planned to let other mods' materials upgrade ice, and extra mod compatibility is listed as coming soon.

Key features

  1. Six ice tiers

Ordinary ice moves up through six tiers, named Copper, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond and Netherite.

  2. Faster slip speed

Each tier increases how quickly boats, players, mobs and items move across the ice.

  3. Distinct visuals

Every upgraded tier has its own visual elements, which adds variety to ice-based builds.

  4. Vanilla-friendly materials

Upgrades use common Minecraft materials, so no special resources are needed to progress.

Use cases

Ice roads

Long boat routes can be paved with higher tiers so travel across frozen areas takes less time.

Racing tracks

Players can build ice circuits where the tier chosen sets how fast competitors slide.

Who it’s for: Players who build transport networks or boat courses in survival and creative worlds, and server owners who want faster ice travel without adding new items beyond vanilla materials.
