Hominid
by Alganaut
Hominid is a NeoForge mob mod for 1.21.1 that adds undead humans and several new monster types to the overworld biomes.
What it does
The mod replaces some vanilla mobs with variants that fit their surroundings, and adds new monsters that make certain biomes harder to cross. Each new mob has its own rarity and behaviour, so encounters differ from one biome to the next. Hominid is a client and server mod, so the server and every player need it.
Mellified is a preserved, honey-coated undead that can splatter honey on nearby enemies to apply a Honeyed effect; its honey also restores health and clears negative status effects. Mellified spawns in meadows, cherry groves and birch forests and follows players without attacking them. Famished and Juggernaut round out the set, with Famished hunting animals in barren land and Juggernaut replacing some standard zombies with a heavily armoured brute. Hominid is all rights reserved, not open source, and is published for 1.21.1 only, with source code and an issue tracker available.
