Higher Snow Lines
by santient
Higher Snow Lines raises the altitude at which snow begins, so water freezes and snow forms higher up on mountains and hills across biomes.
What it does
Snow normally starts at a fixed height in each biome. This Fabric world generation mod moves that threshold upward, so snow covers higher elevations than in vanilla terrain. The effect is strongest with world generation that goes beyond the vanilla world height. Its temperature falloff with altitude is hardcoded in the game, and a datapack can only partly change it, so results depend on the other mods and datapacks in use, such as AmpXtreme. Players and server owners install it on both sides, and it is released under the MIT License, though it is not open source.
Key features
Higher snow line
Snow begins at a greater altitude, so peaks and slopes show snow cover earlier in the terrain.
Freezing water at height
Water at elevation freezes and snow forms there, following the raised snow line across biomes.
Works with taller worlds
Results are strongest with world generation that extends past the vanilla world height.

What the author says
This simple mod raises the snow lines across all biomes (the elevation at which water freezes and snow forms) for better results with modified world generation beyond the vanilla world height. Temperature dropoff rate affecting snow lines is hardcoded into the game and can't be changed by a datapack, so I made this a…
