Gnomes!

Gnomes spawn in three different ways. Spawn chance depends on the biome, and the number of other mobs at a location changes how often they appear, so the rate varies from place to place. They are also tied to certain biome-generated blocks, much like silverfish. A small chance of spawning in some vanilla and modded biomes is included. A player's luck stat raises the chance of a gnome spawning on a block, so a luck buff can help a hunt.

Gnomes are skittish and hesitate or run when a player gets too close or strikes them. They are found sleeping, eating mushrooms, riding foxes or hiding poorly. Each gnome drops randomly chosen loot and one spawn egg, and they can also dye hats. Additional loot and spawns come from optional mods, and with Supplementaries installed a gnome can be captured with a cage jar. The Artifacts mod supplies the fart sound effect.

The mod runs on NeoForge for 1.21.1 only, and both the server and every player need it. It is released under All rights reserved, so the code is not open source. The latest file, 1.1.0, was published on 2026-02-22, after the first release on 2026-02-11.
