fullscreeNO

by comp500

fullscreeNO keeps Minecraft from starting in fullscreen mode, so the game opens in a window instead.

What it does

Minecraft normally launches in fullscreen when the Fullscreen option is set in Video Options. With fullscreeNO installed, the game starts in a window while the saved fullscreen setting stays in place for later use. Only the client needs the mod; servers run without it and players join without installing anything. Builds are published for Fabric and Quilt across game versions 1.15 – 1.21.1, and the source is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Windowed startup

The game opens in a window at launch, even when fullscreen is enabled in the options.

  2. Fullscreen option preserved

The Fullscreen setting in Video Options is left untouched, so toggling it still works during play.

  3. Pressing F11 still works

The F11 key keeps switching between windowed and fullscreen modes while the game is running.

Questions

Does fullscreeNO need to be installed on the server?

No. It is installed on the player's side alone, so servers need nothing.

What the author says

This client-side mod stops Minecraft from starting in full screen mode, so it doesn't interrupt whatever you're currently doing! You can then press the F11 key as usual, or change the Fullscreen option in Video Options, to put Minecraft in full screen.
